Webcam imagery can assist mountain drivers to judge the weather and driving. We are providing a "bird's eyes" view of Idyllwild from four webcams. The first is located near the town center of Idyllwild. The second cam location is in our nearest town, as the crow flies, Hemet. The third locale is 180 degrees in the opposite direction, Palm Springs. The last is located about a mile out of town on Highway 243. * Georgia webcam is undergoing maintenance at this time. This Friday, September 3, 2010, Cafe Cinema will show AMERICAN MOVIE (1999). 
Cafe Cinema will show AMERICAN MOVIE (1999), the incredibly funny film about a couple of Wisconsin filmmakers who are ravenous about making movies, despite having almost no money and resources. 
We will begin the evening with episode 7, Land of the Dead from the 1940 serial, FLASH GORDON CONQUERS THE UNIVERSE. The 15th annual summer Idy Jazz Festival is now in the books. Special thanks to all the volunteers who made this terrific event happen. 
Wednesday, Sep 15 - Nov 17 , 5-7 PM Reading on Wed., Dec 8, 5-7 PM Idyllwild Public Library. Workshop leader Jean Waggoner is an Adjunct Associate Professor of English at the College of the Desert and Riverside City College. Her work has appeared in The National Poetry Anthology as well as in collegiate publications and poetry blog spots. Jean offers encouraging artistic criticism that inspires wood-be poets and authors to work on the craft of writing. This free workshop is open to writers in all genres and levels from beginners to published professionnals. Please register by e-mailing inlandia "at" inlandiainstitute.org. 
The Isis Theatre Company Presents: "The Clean House," by Sarah Ruhl and directed by Howard Shangraw this September 3-5, 7:30 p.m. at The Caine Learning Center. Tickets are $15 at the door. For more info, please see the website. 
The Idy Mountain Community Patrol will hold its 16th annual Yard & Bake Sale on September 3rd and 4th between 8am-3pm. The location of the event is 54185 South Circle Dr. This is a great way to get the old antiques and knickknacks at a wonderful price. 
The annual Idyllwild Rotary Club Labor Day BBQ event will be held on Sunday September 5, 2010 at Town Hall between 3-7pm. All proceeds will finance functions and efforts that benefit our town an local residents directly. 
Idyllwild Area Historical Society presents the 10th annual Home Tour on September 18th, 10am-4pm. Attendees will be treated to some of the most unique homes built in this part of the world. The event begins in the center of town near the purple ATM machine. For more info, see the website.

The celestial bodies are arranged in chronological rise time order and can be experienced in the Idyllwild area by looking in the lower southeast sky (towards Garner Valley). If the name of the planet is in purple, then it is currently visible under suitable conditions. To view the setting planet, look in the lower southwest sky, towards Hemet.
